Kayleigh Trimm, student board member and ambassador girl scout, is in the final steps of completing her Girl Scout Gold Award project. During the process, Kayleigh led a team of teachers and administrators in completing her project, "Nurture Your Mind, Mental Health Awareness and Outreach." As part of the project, Kayleigh and Trista Manar recently presented to BHHS students on "You Don't Have to Navigate Life Alone," a presentation on students finding support. Students at Bunker Hill High School are excited to be one of 250 schools participating nationwide in a contest to design a Crosley record player. Students will have a month to create their design around the theme “Band Together." The concept is centered around how music brings us together as a nation and around the globe. Mid-October, each participating school will post their design to be voted top in their region (Midwest) using social media. The top design will then be chosen by Crosley as the winner. The winning school will receive funds for their art department and each participating student will receive a Crosley record player!

Mr. Metheny’s Introduction to Computer Science class was tasked with exploring the various components of a computer and the functions of each piece. Students had the hands-on opportunity to tear down computers, identify key parts like the motherboard, CPU, RAM, hard drive, and power supply, and learn how they all work together to make a system run. Along the way, they also discussed how these parts connect to real-world technology, building a strong foundation for future lessons in coding, problem-solving, and digital literacy.
