Spring season is here! Congratulations to the baseball and softball teams on their victories over Dupo last night! Also to the boys tennis team for their victory over Civic Memorial on Wednesday!
This weekend, these students will be participating in the Illinois Junior High and High School Rodeo. Lola Zimmer will be performing in the barrel racing and pole bending events. Tyler Santel will be performing in the team roping event. Taylor Miklavic will be performing in the breakaway roping, pole bending, goat tying, and barrel racing events. Good luck to our students this weekend!
The BHHS Advanced Carpentry class recently installed metal on a building owned by the Bunker Hill Fire Department. Thank you to the BHFD for this service opportunity!
Today was Lewis & Clark Community College signing day at BHHS. Congrats to Jocelyn Baker, Noah Thyer, and Jennifer Stamper for signing letters of intent to L&C!
Abigail Scott, a 2022 BHHS graduate, was surprised today with a $1500 check from the Lisa (File) Heyen memorial scholarship. The memorial was set up for a BHHS graduate pursuing a nursing degree. Lisa graduated from BHHS in 1977. Congrats Abigail!
The March Student of the Month at Bunker Hill High School is Austyn Michael Eddinger. Austyn is the only child of Sandra Eddinger and Brian Eddinger. Austyn is a member of National Honor Society, FFA, FCA, and helped the drama club with their most recent performance. Outside of the classroom, Austyn enjoys working on cars, playing airsoft, skating, writing and gaming with friends. Austyn plans to attend Blackburn College and get a degree in the field of engineering. He plans to become a mechatronics technician because he dreams to build robots to help people. His fondest high school memory is very hard to narrow down, but he suggests it must be one of the end-of-school celebrations as they are always fun.
Due to the weather conditions, both the softball game against Southwestern, and the boys tennis match against Althoff have been cancelled for today, 3/14/23.

This program honors an outstanding young person in the senior class who demonstrates qualities of a good citizen which include dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.
BHHS students participated today in a presentation involving the Illinois Laborers & Contractors Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program. This an an opportunity for students to enroll in apprenticeship training classes at the SCI Training and Innovation Center in Litchfield. Classes would include Automotive, EMT, Construction, and Welding.
Congrats to our newly inducted and current student members of the National Honor Society! During the ceremony on March 7th, students spoke about the four pillars of membership: Leadership, Service, Scholarship, and Character. The ceremony concluded with some tasty refreshments.

Bunker Hill High School was represented today at the IHSA Girls' Basketball State Finals at ISU in Normal. BHHS was a finalist for the IHSA Student Section and Spirit Showdown. Today, the 8th grade "Project Lead the Way" class learned about brain function and brain anatomy by participating in a brain dissection activity.
The BHHS Junior class will be sponsoring a father/daughter dance on Saturday, March 18th from 6-8pm. Flyers will be handed out at this week at Wolf Ridge.
Mrs. Mac’s 8th grade Spanish students recently enjoyed working together in creating sentences. These types of activities in which students collaborate and share ideas are engaging and help to create a positive classroom culture.
