Cheer tryouts for next year are May 13th and May 15th.

The May Student of the Month at Bunker Hill High School is Ryenne Lahey. She is the daughter of Jessica and Timothy Kline (step-father). Ryenne comes from a huge family; she is 1 of 12. Ryenne has earned Principal’s list honors throughout her high school career. During her senior year, she participated in volleyball and was chosen for All-Conference in the Macoupin County Tournament. She also participated in softball all four years. Lastly, she currently participates in the school work program at Day Lilies Daycare. Ryenne’s future plans after high school are to attend Maryville University in Missouri and major in Early Childhood Education and minor in Business. Her fondest memory throughout high school is seeing at least one of her siblings in school with her.

Last night we celebrated Senior Night for our baseball players.




Next week is National Prevention Week. The BHHS Student Advisory Committee and BHHS Health classes are proud to be promoting this with some activities and dress up days.


Yesterday at BHHS....Dr Sarah Drury-Dothager from the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) came to talk to students in Mrs. Melton's engineering classes about what the NGA does, opportunities for high school internships, college internships, college scholarships and employment at NGA.



BHHS participated today in the 2024 High School Gifted Olympiad. Sixteen (16) BHHS students participated and had a fun learning experience. Our senior team won 2nd place out of 42 teams!





The FFA plant sale is a little over a week away and our Horticulture students are busy preparing We have veggies, flowers, hanging baskets, and perennials. Can’t wait to see you May 9th, 10th, or 11th.
The BHHS art classes are displaying their talents during the spring band concert this evening. All are welcome!

BHHS offers several work-based learning opportunities to explore a career path. Jake Jarrell is pictured here running a skid steer at PCS in Bunker Hill. Jake is part of the cooperative education program at BHHS and has learned many technical skills as a part of his work experience. Jake plans to join the local 520 union and become a master mechanic . BHHS is proud to have representation on IHSA's Student Advisory Committee! Brennan Fulton was nominated and went through an interview process to get selected for the committee. Sunday he spent the day in Bloomington at the IHSA office with other SAC members from across the state working on different projects and initiatives to help IHSA activities.




BHHS seniors signed letters of intent today to attend Lewis & Clark Community College. Congratulations to Lucas Wolff, Danica Paul, and Braden Fulton!




Congratulations to Cheyanne Brooks, Madelyn Landreth, and Leyna Foschiatti! These students signed letters of intent to attend college after graduation. Cheyanne will be attending Eastern Illinois University and Madelyn and Leyna will be attending Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. We wish them well!
