Some of our seniors who are planning on attending Lewis & Clark Community College in the fall went to early bird registration today. They left BHHS this morning as Minutemaids/Minutemen and returned Trailblazers!!

As part of their community service project, the BHHS track and field team took time out of their practice to diligently ensure the high school campus is trash free.

BHHS is getting closer to meeting our goal of parent input on the 5Essentials Survey. In order to receive a parent report, a school must both meet the reporting threshold of 20% and have a minimum of 8 parents who submit the survey. Currently, BHHS is at 9%. So at your earliest convenience, please click on the following link to complete the survey. Thank you for your participation! http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/

Reminder that High School Baseball and Softball tryouts are on Monday February 28th after school. If the weather does not permit an outside practice, Softball will practice in the High School Gym from 3:30-5:00, and Baseball will practice from 5:00-6:30.

Due to inclement weather, the boys’ basketball game and senior night is cancelled for tonight-2/17/22. However, we have scheduled a varsity-only game on Friday, 2/18/22, beginning at 6pm. Senior night for our band, cheer, and boys' basketball teams will occur immediately after the game. Thank you!

During halftime of last night's boys' basketball game, Theresa Owen was honored for 20 years of service as our BHHS cheer coach. Throughout those years, Theresa was assisted by several great assistant coaches. They include:
Teresa Mullink, Debra (Tudor) Rhodes, Trishia Heflin, Elora McLaughlin, Tiffani Scheldt and Lea Hines.
Theresa has coached over 75 student-athletes throughout her 20 years. Several of them have gone on to cheer in college and compete on the national stage. Theresa has also organized a successful cheer clinic each of the last 20 years where young girls join the cheerleaders in performing new cheers and dances.
In 2008, Theresa started a competition squad. The squad competed at many ICCA invitationals, went on to compete at ICCA Championships 7 times, qualified for IHSA state 5 times, and won IHSA sectionals in 2014.
Throughout the past 20 years, Theresa dedicated countless hours and grew to love each cheer squad in their own way. Although the decision to hang up her pom poms has been a difficult one, we are grateful for the hard work & devotion she has given her cheerleaders, the school, and the sport of cheerleading. Congrats to Theresa and we wish her the best!
