The 8th grade students presented reasons and evidence in a Mock Trial to prove the guilt or innocence of the narrator in "The Tell-Tale Heart."

The BHHS Advanced Construction class recently partnered with the Bunker Hill Public Library in refurbishing the library bike rack and bench. Great job guys!
Mr. Slover and Anatomy & Physiology students recently participated in a "Special Senses Lab." Students learned about receptors and the nervous system. Students had a great time with the activities!
In engineering, students have been learning about machines. This activity has to do with changing the motion. The students built pantographs to change the scale of a drawing. The students chose their simple pictures they wanted to draw and then built the pantograph, tested it, made adjustments, and enlarged their images.
The High School Girls Basketball season began last night. Varsity came up just short in a very competitive battle against Lincolnwood-Morrisonville. JV won on a last second buzzer beater by Ashley Gerecke!
Reminder that in girls basketball they will play varsity first at 6:00, followed by JV. This is now a common format by most small schools in response to low numbers.
Yesterday the IHSA hosted a Leadership Conference for students. Mr. Haynes took 7 students to Peoria for the conference to spend time learning about leadership, positive mindset, time management, and social media.
This past week the Bunker Hill FFA Chapter participated in the 96th National Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana. Along with attending the Expo and opening sessions, students also went on various tours and learned more about agriculture in Indiana. Students were able to tour a Christmas tree farm where they learned about everything that goes into growing and selling Christmas trees. They also toured a winery where they learned about the sciences of fermentation. And they ended the trip with go-kart riding and a rodeo!
BHHS was creative, fun, and educational today! Teachers teamed together to offer several project-based learning and interdisciplinary lessons to students.
Cheyenne Brooks is taking advantage of using her senior college visit days by visiting Eastern Illinois University today. She is considering a career in education.
BHHS, the American Legion Partridge Post 578, and the BSA Scouts and Cubs participated in our annual Veteran's Day program today. Thank you to all of the participants that helped us remember and honor all those who have served so faithfully to defend our country and preserve our freedom.
As part of Red Ribbon Week, students in Mr. Haynes' Health classes had a competition to come up with the best memes with a drug free message. Here are the 4 winners.
Mrs. Roller's College Prep English 3 class participated in a cool activity today. Student groups worked on a hexagonal thinking activity based upon their reading of "The Crucible." During the activity, students asked questions, debated, and made connections with the text and their ideas.

On October 20th, Macoupin Center for the Developmentally Disabled (MCDD) had their 25th Anniversary of Mini Olympics. Our students volunteered and they had a great time!
BHHS health classes organized an awesome Red Ribbon Week! The week included dress up days, fun outside activities, and a presentation on drug abuse prevention. Special thanks to Clint Hamel and Christina Smith from the Gateway Foundation for presenting to our students.
BHHS students had a great time today visiting the Construction Expo in Belleville! Students had the opportunity to test their skills in welding, soldering, concrete finishing, operating, and in several other trades.
