Minutemen Basketball this week!

Mr. Slover and Ms. Sutton took the junior high science club and a group of high school science students to a Body Worlds exhibit in Peoria today. The Body Worlds exhibit is a traveling display of medically donated human specimens for research. This is a rare treat for our students, since the exhibit does not come to our area often. All students had a great experience!

BHHS and Wolf Ridge celebrated faculty/staff recognition night at James Hlafka Hall! The night started with a girls' varsity basketball contest and the 2nd game featured a boys' varsity contest. Coach Hlafka was also honored with the crowd singing happy birthday to him. Coach will be 90 years old tomorrow.

Current students who dress up in camo tonight get in for free!

Today, some of our high school students read to kindergarteners at Wolf Ridge. The kindergarten students loved making new high school friends!

That's a Minutemaid win over Dupo! It was a great team win with 8 different girls scoring tonight!

The Bunker Hill community spirit contest winner is Turney’s Heating & Cooling with 90 votes. Thank you to all of the businesses for participating!

Recently, BHHS students participated in a pep rally to show their school spirit and support our Minutemen and Minutemaids as they begin their sports seasons. Thank you to our fans, to our local social media supporters, and to a local podcast supporter for showcasing BHHS! The rules are the same as last year. The picture with the most likes by Monday November 20th at 5pm will be the winner!! Be sure to share this post and have your friends like the ORIGINAL photo!
And once again, thank you for supporting our Minutemen & Minutemaid basketball teams!! Be sure to catch the boys home opener Monday! Boys JV plays at 6 & varsity will follow! And the next girls home game is Monday 11/27.

Basic Ag Mechanics students are using the cutting torch for the first time today! According to Mr. Young, all students in the class passed the safety test, allowing students to move on to the cutting torch.

The 8th grade students presented reasons and evidence in a Mock Trial to prove the guilt or innocence of the narrator in "The Tell-Tale Heart."

Here is the flyer for the Alumni Basketball Game on 1/26/24! Last year was a great success, we are looking forward to this year!

Tonight's High School Girls Basketball game vs Sangamon Valley is canceled due to illness. It will be made up at a later date.

The BHHS Advanced Construction class recently partnered with the Bunker Hill Public Library in refurbishing the library bike rack and bench. Great job guys!

Mr. Slover and Anatomy & Physiology students recently participated in a "Special Senses Lab." Students learned about receptors and the nervous system. Students had a great time with the activities!

In engineering, students have been learning about machines. This activity has to do with changing the motion. The students built pantographs to change the scale of a drawing. The students chose their simple pictures they wanted to draw and then built the pantograph, tested it, made adjustments, and enlarged their images.

The High School Girls Basketball season began last night. Varsity came up just short in a very competitive battle against Lincolnwood-Morrisonville. JV won on a last second buzzer beater by Ashley Gerecke!
Reminder that in girls basketball they will play varsity first at 6:00, followed by JV. This is now a common format by most small schools in response to low numbers.

Yesterday the IHSA hosted a Leadership Conference for students. Mr. Haynes took 7 students to Peoria for the conference to spend time learning about leadership, positive mindset, time management, and social media.
