The Macoupin County Health Department will have their mobile dental unit at our schools on Wednesday, March 6th and Thursday, March 7th. Forms were sent home with every student in December and the State of IL dental requirement reminder was sent this month. Please contact MCPHD if you have any questions or concerns at 1-888-369-9510 or email mcphd@mcphd.net.
Due to the ice and freezing rain forecasted to move in to the area overnight and tomorrow morning, Bunker Hill CUSD #8 will NOT be in session tomorrow (Monday, January 22).
This will be a traditional "snow day" with e-learning not required nor offered. Stay safe!

Due to the dangerous wind chill values predicted for tomorrow morning, Bunker Hill CUSD #8 will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday, 1/16). No e-learning/remote learning is required nor offered.
Since the Wind Chill Warning expires at 12:00 noon, activities and games scheduled for the afternoon and evening may still occur.
Stay safe and warm!

Bunker Hill CUSD 8 Families:
Bunker Hill parents should be aware that the extremely cold weather we are experiencing is currently forecast to continue into Tuesday afternoon. The below graphic is from this morning National Weather Service (St Louis) email blast. The forecast for Tuesday morning is a serious concern. Concerns include students waiting at bus stops in dangerous wind chills and prolonged time on a bus if a mechanical failure occurs.
Parents/guardians should begin making a tentative “backup” plan for child care for Tuesday, 1/16 if the forecast is accurate and a snow day is required.
While no decision has been made at this time, the forecasted temperatures are a concern. When a decision is made, an all-call text message will be sent to parents/guardians, as well as shared with local media outlets and our social media accounts. If it is possible to make the call the evening before, that call is typically made prior to 9:00 PM.
Just a reminder that while many districts continue to use “remote” or e-learning days, Bunker Hill CUSD #8 maximizes in-person learning to the greatest extent possible. We DO NOT require or offer remote learning during school closures. There is something magical about a “snow day” whether that consists of sleeping in, reading a book, drinking hot chocolate, or just spending time with your families, we hope that you enjoy an unscheduled day off.

Facility Friday: Continued progress on the Wolf Ridge Addition, brought to you by the #BHill8 Maintenance Director Ryon Wright #inspireempowerinnovate #WeAreBH #BH8Rising
