Grace Burris of 5th grade was the grand prize winner in Macoupin County.Grace received a gift certificate to Altitude, a professional certificate and a coloring/activities booklet from the Macoupin County

Mrs. Murphy's junior high math classes are participating in March MATHness. Student groups are competing by solving math problems to earn points. The championship competitions are taking place this week.
Our students are celebrating March Madness by reading. The school is currently participating in a March Madness Book Challenge set up by Mrs. Meisenheimer. Each week students read books and vote on their favorite. (4 books compete in 2 games weekly). We will post the winner.
Parents of students that will be entering kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year will be able to register for school during the Prek screening and registration dates/times. More information is included on the attached flyer. We can’t wait to meet you!
Jill Williams, with the St. Louis Dairy Council made a visit to Rita Craig’s first grade and Erin McAfee’s kindergarten today. The visit was by the St. Louis Dairy Council in affiliation with the Adopt-a-Cow program. All of the students participated in making and sampling butter!
Wolf Ridge students are being encouraged to do their best as we take the IAR state tests throughout the next few weeks. We have adopted other classrooms, participated in dress-up days and even chalked our sidewalks with motivational sayings to support our test takers.
On Thursday, March 14 the seventh grade students at Wolf Ridge Elementary had a science fair. At the science fair they made their own projects and presented them to local parents and students. The students have been working on them throughout the school year and finally got to show off their hard work. The science fair consisted of many different projects based off of different scientific methods and ideas. It went extremely well and the parents and students loved it! The students had fun throughout the process of the science fair.

Congratulations to the Lady Patriots on defeating Jerseyville St. Francis in two sets last night. (25-22 & 25-8) They will play tomorrow at 6 pm against #1 ranked Carrollton.
Preschool screenings will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 12:30 - 7:00 PM and on Friday, April 12 from 8:30 - 3:00 PM. Please contact Wolf Ridge at 618-585-4831 to schedule a screen if your child will be three years old by 9/1/19.
Junior high track tryouts will be held on Wednesday, March 6 from 3:15-4:30. Students must have a current physical on file to tryout.
Thank you to all the families that joined us for our Family Reading Night last Thursday. This event took students around the world as they tasted different types of foods, made origami, learned about other cultures and even got to take home some free books!
Social Media safety tips for parents
8th graders are engaged in learning about the Holocaust through a variety of learning centers.
Pre-k went to The MAC where they learned to paint using a variety of items. They painted with pipettes, puzzle pieces, feathers, Pom-poms, and bubbles.
