BH CIT

The Bunker Hill Community Inclusion Team (CIT) is dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging for every student and family at our school. Our team encourages families to get involved right from the start, which helps students do well in school. The team uses strategies to help families with children birth-5 take part in school life and ensure everyone feels welcome. The team's impact extends beyond the school, reaching into the broader Bunker Hill community. Partnerships have been established Daylilies Daycare, Bunker Hill Public Library, Early Intervention, Birth-5 Illinois, Head Start, Early Choices, StarNET and more!  Through collaboration, the Inclusion Team supports families in engaging with their children's education.  As part of this initiative, learning kits have been created which include everything needed for families to engage meaningfully in play to help their child learn valuable skills. These kits include a helpful guide and a number for families to call to access additional resources and support that may be needed.  Kits can be checked out at Wolf Ridge Elementary, Daylilies or the Bunker Hill Library. The Inclusion Team runs workshops, shares information, and hosts social events so every family feels important and able to contribute to their child's education. This project builds a strong support for students and families, demonstrating that community involvement helps everyone succeed.
