The April Student of the month is Jeanie Vowels. Jeanie is the daughter of Heidi and Paul Fenimore. Throughout her high school years Jeanie has been active in drama club, student council, art club, yearbook, and has volunteered in the concession stand. According to many, Jeanie makes THE best popcorn ever!!!
Jeanie has earned many honors, such as: honor roll, high honor roll, and was recognized at the Illinois Principal's Association Student Recognition Ceremony. Also, Jeanie’s artwork has been on display at SIUE for the 2026 High School Art Exhibition.
Jeanie is involved in the BHHS work-based learning program in which she is employed in the boarding department at Hawthorne Animal Hospital. Jeanie’s future plans are to complete the Vet Tech program through Penn Foster while completing her clinicals at Hawthorne.
Jeanie says her fondest high school memory is a hard one because she has had so many. She does highlight her opportunity for work-based learning at Hawthorne Animal Hospital and how it has helped her in her career path.
