The October Student of the Month at Bunker Hill High School is Kayleigh Trimm. Kayleigh is the daughter of Garrett and Ashley Trimm and the sister of Carson Trimm. Kayleigh has been highly involved during her high school years. She is a student school board member and school spirit committee member, representing student voice.
She has also participated in band, yearbook, art club, drama, scholastic bowl, FFA, key club, game club, book club, and coding club. In addition, she has held an officer position in both Student Council and her class all four years of high school. Kayleigh is privileged to be a member of the National Honor Society and has received various awards, including both the Rural and Small Town Recognition Award, School Recognition Award, and has been on the Principal’s List consistently for her outstanding academic achievements. She was also recently chosen to be BHHS’s 2025-26 recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Award.
Outside of school, Kayleigh loves art, nature, and service to her community and currently has over 300 hours of community service. She has also been an active member of Girl Scout Troop 6628 for 13 years and has earned her Bronze Award, Silver Award, and recently finished and is submitting her paperwork for her Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can earn. Her fondest high school memory is from the junior year Branson band trip, when Mr. Adams, their chaperone, picked up the dinner tab for her and her boyfriend, Bodie. That same night she also made her favorite thrift-store find — a cow skull.
Kayleigh plans to attend SIUE in fall of 2026, with the intention of earning her master’s degree in Environmental Science Management. With this degree, she hopes to continue bettering the world around her.
