October Student of the Month

The October Student of the Month at Bunker Hill High School is Kaylin Bartee. Kaylin is the daughter of Steve and Amanda Bartee. She is the middle child of two sisters, Teghan and Adelynn Bartee. Throughout her years at BHHS she has been involved in class Vice President junior and senior year, class Secretary sophomore year, National Honors Society, Student Council, Varsity Softball in addition to providing care of the school American Flag by taking it down and folding the flag appropriately. Kaylin has achieved Principals List along with being in the top 3 of the 2024 class each year. She has been voted in to be a finalist in Macoupin County District for the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens Award. Outside of school, Kaylin has been involved in being a HOBY Youth Leadership Program attendee and volunteering as junior staff. Kaylin participated in travel softball for 10 years and was a 14u softball assistant coach for a year. Kaylin’s fondest high school memory was during her junior year, she broke her ankle during a high school softball game at Christ Our Rock that resulted in needing surgery and being wheelchair bound/using a knee scooter for 2 months. Kaylins future plans are to attend Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, where she plans to study Conservation Biology and Ecology. With this degree, she hopes to follow her passion in becoming a National Park Ranger.
