Bunker Hill 8 families –

It is my sincere hope that you and your families are doing well in this turbulent time. As you know, school is set to resume in a few short weeks. At this time, I am providing a link to the latest “draft” of our Restart Plan for the 2020-21 school year: https://5il.co/ieg7 However, I use the word “draft” because it may, and by all indicators, probably will change throughout this year, if not sooner.

Some of the highlights that parents will need to know as online registration opens on Monday, July 20 are as follows:

  • Whether you are selecting “remote” or “in person” instruction, all families will still need to register through TeacherEase. Either option will include access to Bunker Hill CUSD #8 curriculum, teachers, and device access in appropriate grades. Grades will be assigned as normal, and remote learning 2.0 will now consist of checking in for attendance between 8 and 8:30 AM and the day will formally conclude after 2:10 PM, with the remaining 50 minutes dedicated to meetings for remote learners with their teachers. Meals will be available for pickup at Wolf Ridge.
  • “Home School” is considered neither, but the district will not be providing devices, curriculum, or teacher access. Registration through TeacherEase is not needed, but parents are encouraged to register with ISBE with the following form: https://www.isbe.net/Documents/87-02_hs_reg.pdf
  • Transportation questions will be asked in the registration process. We are asking for any parents who are able to assist us these first few weeks by transporting your child to and from school. Of course, this is only voluntary and free transportation will be provided for any family living more than 1.5 miles from their attendance center.

Although this year looks to be challenging, oftentimes the best circumstances emerge from the most trying times.

As always, please stay safe, and contact us with any questions.

Thank you for your continued patience and partnership,

Todd
