closure update

Good afternoon, Bunker Hill families --

As today is "thank you Thursday" in our district, I'd like to take this opportunity to express my personal gratitude to you, the Bunker Hill community, for your support during these past 2 weeks.  These are absolutely unprecedented times, and we need everyone in our community banded together.  We all know that schools are only as good as the communities with which they partner, and I'm proud to place Bunker Hill CUSD #8 at the top, nationwide!

Next, I'm pleased to announce that Madison Communications has generously provided us with two free, public Homework Hotspots.  The Admin Office at 504 E. Warren and Bunker Hill High School now have free, 1 Gig internet speed free of charge.  Both locations have 500 Mbps upload and download speed, free of charge with passwords removed.  These homework hotspots should be accessed from a vehicle without congregating.  Thank you to Madison Communications!!

Also, we are working to mobilize the resources within our school community to help our own community during this crisis.  We have been collecting donations to assist families in our district and will continue to do so with the help of other local agencies.  Recognizing that our businesses have also been affected, we plan to provide help to our community members (kids, senior citizens, disabled, anyone with a financial need) in the form of Bunker Hill business gift cards (Meehan's, Short Stop, etc.).  If you or anyone in BH has an unmet need, please contact bspickerman@bhcusd.org or tdugan@bhcusd.org

In short, I can't brag enough about our entire school district and community!  Keep checking on each other, and WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER!

Thanks,

Todd
